I was looking for somewhere local to go fishing on a boat and spotted Derrymore Springs on google search. Despite living half an hour away I never heard of it before and I'm so glad to have found it now. It's an absolutely fabulous spot for kayaking, peddle boating, fishing (catch and release) and forest walks. There are changing rooms, a clean toilet block, covered eating area, picnic benches and lots of little benches dotted around to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The grounds are spotlessly clean, well maintained and there's ample parking. You can hire everything including fishing rods at very reasonable prices. We (4 adults, 1 child) decided to hire peddle boats (life jackets included) and fishing rods, despite not catching anything we still had a fantastic time. Also to note two of us don't like the water and can't swim but managed the peddle boats just fine. Pat the owner is a gentleman and has done an amazing job here. We'll certainly be back and highly recommend it to all.

Great day, went with group of cousins 7 kids ranging in age from 5-15 years and one adventurous adult. Spent 3 hrs, kayaked and did pedal boats, walked around the lake and the highlight jumping off the pier. The weather was lovely and we all really enjoyed it.

I had a lovely afternoon at Derrymore Springs - myself, my sister & 4 kids. We hired pedal boats for a hour and absolutely loved being in the lake!! Pat was excellent to deal with & very friendly! (Thanks Pat!). Derrymore is a beautiful location for a picnic & a wander around the walking trail. We loved it all! Stunning, serene location! I highly recommend it! Thanks Pat!

Short walk. Toilets available. Found tiny frogs which my daughter was delighted with. We had a great time. Cafe type set up there but was closed when we visited. Honesty box on site for donations for maintenance. They do have kayaks etc there for rent too, but I think you prebook.
